    On going no start issure

    1989 325is

Ok so its been a while since the last time my car started.. I dont get any spark, fuel pump isnt turning on.

the only way to get the fuel pump to turn on is by jumperin the rely terminals..

Ive replaced all those relays ( fuel pump the main computer one and that small white one)

Ive put in a new computer into the car

Ive checked the crank possion sensor resistance and it was at 550ohms so in spec.

i checked the coil it is in spec ( my resistance was a bit higher then spec)

it looks as if the engine is just not getting any juice to her.. she will crank no problem but that is it.

the last thing i did was take out the compter then put it back in then the next time i went to start she wouldnt.. so Iput in the new computer hoping that was the problem. but no

The thing in the first picture is the accessory fuse block.

No spark and fuel pumps not running almost always means that the DME isn't seeing a timing reference signal or that the DME has no power or is bad. Funny strange wires, like you have, might mean that the car is fitted with an aftermarket alarm system, which could be the problem. You'll have to trace out that wire to see where it goes.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

you might have the same problem as the guy in the fuel pump thread it could be your overvoltage protection relay on top of the abs unit under the drivers side of the dash. i dont know if that will kill you spark but it definetly kills the fuel pump.

Check positive leads coming from the battery in the trunk to the DME. There are two wires in that main bundle. One is a smaller ~12 gauge wire that powers the DME. Route a new 12g wire from the postive battery terminal to the firewall plug and try starting.

Also, there is a fusible link in the larger gauge wire. Sometimes that fuse goes bad. You can make a small length jumper using large gauge wire and see if thats the issue.

                Good luck...
