idle woes. car died three times...

ok so yesterday i was driving the car and everything was fine. i stopped by courtney's house, and put the car on stands for about an hour or so. I changed out the steering wheel from an airbag unit to an MTECH I wheel, and removed the busted front right foglight. unfortunately the wiring for the fog light sheared off, and now there are two loose wires.

i dropped the car down, turned it on, and the idle was worthless. we looked all over the car, but couldn't figure it out. the idle would sit around 800 ish (normal) and then drop sub 500, then waiver up and down. when the clutch pedal was depressed, the idle would smooth out some, but not much. then all of a sudden the car was idling fine. maybe it needed to warm up? i drove home and all was well.

This morning i turned the car on after replacing the high beam relay (last night). the lumpy idle was back. i tried warming the engine up some, and oddly enough it was not working. the whole way to work this morning, i had issues when sitting at idle when approaching a stop light. i drove on the expressway all the way to work at about 80mph the whole way and got to work in about 10 minutes. i get off, and get to the corner near my job. stop at the stop sign, and the car dies. the idle dropped too low. then i turned it back on, turned, and got to the next corner, and the car died again. drove it about 3/4 of the block, got to my parking spot it died again, and then i turned it on, parked and left it running. all of a sudden, perfect idle and the car was warm...

    something is up.

i'm curious. any help would be appreciated.
