m20b25 randomly dies

So i am looking into my getting my aunts 87 325i vert, and the only problem it has that concerns me is that she said that when you drive it, sometimes the engine will randomly die. it then will start right back up.

I figure that its probably a sensor or something, but I was wondering what you guys think this might be.

Anyone have the same problem? I am just looking for some ideas on where to start

Start with the CPS. Check for cracked, frayed wire, etc.
