    just sitting turning over

    so a friend of mine was messing around with the Ecu, changing them out, in his 325e and now it just sits turning over. he says that the ecu needs to be programed so that it will be running again. he said that it would start up before he changed the ecu out. its a lil bit of a high mileage car, so im thinkin that the fuel pump might not be working or something?

    whats your guys input?

    let me hear it.

    thanks!

      Why did he change out the ecu to begin with? For the fuck of it ,or what? Just put the origanal one back in,since it was running fine with it ,right?

        No,the ecu doesn't need to get "re-programed."

          i guess he had some extra ecu's and just wanted to try them out. the car has been sitting i guess for a while. is there a quick way to check if the fuel pump is not working?

            What happens is that the timing is not right with the new ECU in it if you swap back that old ECU it should start fine.

            to check the fuel pump is to remove the fuel line and try cranking the car and it should shoot fuel out but be careful.
