I have an S52 in my E36. The engine is great, but I prefer the M20 single cam motor for the E30. Just my preference. I like how straight forward the E30 is to work on. I can practically work on it blindfolded.

I have actually considered the turbo, but I really think that the car is plenty enough for me to handle as is.
