Ok, I have a slight coolant leak that only shows up after the car has been parked a couple of days and it is stone cold. Nothing leaks when the car is running and hot. The drip comes from the front of the car somewhere- can't find evidence of leaking at any hose connections, my waterpump was replaced 4k ago last year, and I'm stumped. Any ideas of what would cause a leak to start only after the car has been sitting for awhile?

I'd guess that it is also leaking when hot. But the leak may be small enough that the fluid evaporates off the hot engine. Basically any of the cooling system components on the front of the engine are suspects. If you can't spot the leak, have the cooling system pressure tested.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yeah I said on the other forum that it might be the freeze plug or block which I hope not .I thought about it a little and did you check the gasket for the waterpump.The things that I said that is in the front is the thermostat housing,hoses to the housing,and the radiator and water pump there is nothing else in the center of the car unless the dripping follows the hoses to where it connects in the center or the low spot in the line is dripping.unless its dripping from the head gasket but I think you would see buildup of corrosion where its leaking.Comment
