More M10 to M20 swap questions Fuel Problems

Well today I finally go it to turn over but I really think I have the fuel lines hooked up wrong.

When I cranked it fuel came out of the throttle body. It did start and run but i didn't keep it running long.

    Here is what I have.

The hose on the pressure regulator is going to the charcoal canister.

The hose coming from the back of the fuel rail to the return line for the tank.

The hose under the intake manifold with the electrical connector connected to the fuel filter.

    Help!

    Thanks

You have them connected wrong, and from the sounds of it, I would have liked to have been there to laugh.

    This diagram should help.

After you get everything connected right you will want to replace your charcoal canister. Its ruined now.

The problem is with your connections to the fuel, and specifically the FPR.

The vacuum line on the FPR connects to the intake manifold. The FPR inlet connects to the fuel rail and the outlet is the return back to the tank. A separate line connects the throttle body to the charcoal cannister.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

can I just remove the charcoal canister? I am not running any cats because I have historic tags. I don't need to run emissions.

How would I run the lines then?

Im trying to understand how you could manage such a thing. When i did my m10 to m20 swap i had the lines backward, so the pressure was trying to go through the FPR before the fuel rail. I simply swapped the lines in the back and it ran after that.

The charcoal canister is supposed to connect to the intake manifold, pressure line to the back of the fuel rail, and return to the FPR on the front of the fuel rail. The tank vapor line will then connect to the charcoal canister.

The pressure line is the line coming out of the top of the filter BTW

I don't know I was all messed up. I have to wait until this weekend to figure it out.

I hooked up the part circled blow to the fuel filter out line.

So the back of the fuel rail is the pressure line? and the front is the return line?

Can I just get rid of the charcoal canister and plug the two hoses?

Yeah, you dont really need the charcoal canister, its more of a gas mileage thing for these old hunks. Im pretty sure thats how its hooked up. If not swap the lines at the back [in front of the driver rear wheel]
