    code

code came out to be 1223 coolant temp sensor. Now I'm not sure if this was the coolant temp sensor for the ECU or the one that goes to the cluster...

Got all the parts... worst case worst... going to rebuilt it and beef it up or m50 here it comes. Regardless, I'll figure it out... its not the money spent fixing it, but rather, money spend that could be toward an upgrade. So I'll do the simple things to see if we can get lucky... if not, I might do stroker or m50.

-Its the one for the DME (ecu). The other one (for the gauge) is technicly a "coolent temp sending unit".

        sOOOOOOOO

So after we got the new boot and fix all the vacuum leak etc. it only took us a good 3 hours to pop on and pop off the intake, since now I know wehre everything goes...

At cold it runs nice, as it warms up the same steam is blowing out the header and the exhaust... At first it smells like its just burning rich, then later the smoke becomes more consistent... the scariest part is my coolant cap reservoir place is smoking...

        Anyone?

well.. its hard tos ay even now, this morning I pull it up and it was fine ... no smoke or nothing. then there is some intermitent smoke... but alot less than yesterday.. so maybe it could be o2

everyone always scream head gasket for everything white smoke... even non mechs will say the same when they see white smoke...

I had the same happen on my seven and every shop I took to say head gasket... it turns out its just the oil pcv tube. Good thin I didnt do head gasket on the v8...

It has nothing to do with the o2 sensors.

There are 2 things that will make the coolant bottle bubble. A bad head gasket, and air in the cooling system. I suggest you bleed the cooling system properly before you CAUSE a bad head gasket.

So... you ask for advice, several experts tell you with reasonable certainty what the problem is, and suggest a sure-fire way to find out using a $20 tool (which you can rent/borrow for free), and you spend 2 pages arguing (and probably spending more than $20 fixing phantom causes)?

This is what I'm looking for, thanks. I'll definitely give that a try

you dont need to be an expert to say head gasket = white smoke. Thats what they read you in the text books. It turns out to be just a very bad multiple vacuum leaks. I'm not saying "oooo your wrong dumb ass", but I am saying I'm looking for something other than the obvious. I'm not a newbie, so its like saying " you have cable internet and it went down, and you call comcast and everyone tells you to reset your modem..." I'm pretty sure everyone's been there. Or your computer crash, and everyone says reinstall window... Hell I can rebuild my whole motor, and I'll get rid of the problem.

No I wasnt arguing... all I'm saying is "its not the problem, anyone can think of anythign else? the motor runs fine and it idle's smooth.

the problem is solve now, thanks for everyone input.
