proper idle rpm on an eta?

i just got a new SI board and got my tach to work, but im not sure if it is showing correctly yet. The reason i am not sure is becasue when i shut the car off, the tach needle will go back up to 1 and sit there. But as soon as i turn the key, it functions properly, or seems to.

The car idles at little over 1000RPM. What should the norm be? or is my tach reading correct?

It should be around 750. You might have a vacuum leak or your idle control valve needs to be adjusted.
