What kind of chip is this?

Formance 325i/is/ix
c1999 E-30 M20-B25

This is what is written on the chip.

Anyone know who makes it? I was told it was a MarkD chip. I called him and left a vmail but Im waiting to hear back. Any ideas?

sounds like the chip that sells on Ebay. Proformance. check out the ebay chips, im guessing its the $30 one. But I read all his feedback and everyone is very happy with the chip, but may just be the placebo effect. who knows??

Ya. My car isnt a stock 325i though. Its a 325e with an I head, M30 AFM and Injectors. Im having a misfire or what seems like a misfire issue so Im wondering if i get a different chip (MarkD) that is made for what my car has, if it would fix it.

You need to be sure the chip is made for your DME number ......but yeah I believe MarkD makes a chip for the "i" head on an eta .

If not he can burn one for your application .


Edit : Are you referring to the 88' "super" Eta (stroker) in you sig ?
If so then you need the 173 DME and just act like its a m20b25 with all those mods ...and stop calling it an Eta .
And definitely stop calling it a "stroker" .

Well thank you for putting it so blunt. So basically, my car is a 327i then right? It does have the 173 DME but it also has the M30 AFM and M30 Injectors. Im thinking that the DME doesnt know what to do with the upgraded AFM and injectors. Ive tried getting in touch with MarkD but he wont return my email or phone calls. What are my other options for a custom chip designed for my mods?

Put your stock AFM back on and it will run right. Worthless mod.

What about the the larger injectors? Are they going to be affected? I have the stock M20 AFM but not the stock injectors. Why would it run perfectly fine with the stock AFM and hickup with the M30 AFM?

Edit: Thought I had a stock m20 intake tube laying around but turns out I dont. Ill have to source one and swap it back and see if that fixes it.
