    m20 timing chain

ok, so after some searching, i found nothing on the topic of a timing chain kit for the m20.
I figured i think it would be a great idea to have a kit in where you can replace that un-trusted belt for a chain. yeah it might make a little bit more noise but what else would be bad and hard about that?

    Does anybody make a kit?

is there anybody completly against the idea? why?

if there no kits, you think it would be a tough project?

its not like the belts randomly break. it only happens if you neglect to change it every few years.

Belts are also easier to turn for the engine, a chain is more weight for the engine to turn so you'll end up losing a bit of power if you convert to a chain.

You realise if you just got some sprockets and put a chain on it where the belt originally went you would be having to oil it every day so it doesnt stretch and having to clean it all the time as well probably because it isn't in the engine. Belts are fine, just replace them when ya ment to. The reason BMW has a 60,000km cambelt and not a 100,000km like many japanese cars is because after 60,000km belts stretch a bit so the car minorly goes out of timing, which japanese car manufactures obviously dont care about but bmw did, i guess? I have seen cambelts on m20's go up to 120,000km no problem, but ya not going to see me doing that to my car.

Sounds like the better thing to do if you don't like changing timing belts!
