325e clutch Q's

so i got a 86 325e in decent condition and it needs a clutch, so i was reading that they changed the clutch styles in 5/86...so i went to check for the manufacter date in the door and it wasnt there, there was a vin number and a weight thing but that was it.....now how do i find out when this car was manufacterd or is there a date in a differnt spot on the car other then in the door? Thanks
