    oil light

Yesterday, my oil light just came on under the temp gauge...
Oil just poured out all at once...I checked the dipstick and its bone dry.

    Could my seals be going?
I jacked the car up today to see and what I saw was a mess! Oil just covered everywhere from the oil pan gasket to the tranny, just everywhere..
I didnt get a chance to see where the oil was leaking from "exactly" but my guess is the seals.

anybody have the same problem? is it worth fixing on a 210k mi motor that burns oil like crazy? what should I do...

A sudden and large leak may be at the oil cooler lines (if so equipped), the oil filter, or the oil filter adapter. Leaking seals or valve cover gaskets will make a mess, but they leak slowly and you won't see a big drop in oil level between fills of the tank (you are checking the oil every time you fill the car with gas, right?).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Something big is missing, like the oil drain plug, or a piece of the oil pan.

there's no hole in the oil pan. i will be checking the plug and filter. When checking the plug do I need to torque it down or just make sure its nice and snugged on there.?

OK I need your help. just put 1qt of oil in, let it run for 15mins, and nothing. no leaks BUT...
I jacked up the car and looked...the line that runs beside the oil pain to the side of the block...what is that line? because I think thats where the leak is coming from...that line was very oily.

            oil return line?

The only oil lines would be on the exhaust side of the block and they run from the oil filter adapter to the oil cooler mounted under the radiator. On the intake side of the block there are lines for the power steering system, which are prone to leak.
