engine wont turn over

so i decided to take my cabbie out to Blockbuster to return some crap ass movies and turning into the BB it started to stall but didnt turn off. so i waited a bit till idle was normal and i turned it off and went in to return my movies. when i came out it didnt turn over.

On the way there i wasnt very light on the pedal.. any ideas what it could be? its currently sitting at BB.. gonna go back later tonight to see if itll turn over, if it does great..if not AAA itll be.

Do you get a click when you turn the key to turn the starter? If not, it might be the starter solenoid. If you get a click, but it still doesnt turn over, then it might be the starter gone bad.

OK so it finally turned over and i drove it home but that was a mission all in itself. Whenever i tried to accelerate it wanted to die.. I had to wait till idle got be to about 10 mph and then i eased on the gas. When i finally got it home (like 7 blocks away) it would stay at 2k rpm and wouldn't go down. This morning i started it up to see how if it would do the same and everything seems to be normal. Any ideas?
