Was just wondering if anyone has had experience with one and if they made a difference in your engine. Or if you know someone that has one right now, how does he like it and any benefits? I was looking at the one Ireland Engineering sells. Any advice is appreciated.

This is a funny thread. Although many say e30tech sucks, it actually has more worthwhile technical discussions than here.

The IE crank scraper does what it is advertised as doing. Namely that it will prevent oil starvation that can result from oil climbing the exhaust side of the engine in left hand turns. It will require fitting to bottom end, but that's easily accomplished with a die grinder. I installed one on my Spec E30 and haven't seen oil pressure take a nose dive since it was installed.
Theoretically, it might free up an insignificant amount of power by reducing windage, but i can't tell any difference. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
