    Why don't you guys buy the proper plastic hose clamp holder. It works good and your fan won't touch your hose.

      Because I imagine some of us are cheap AF. ;)

      I did the same thing as the other Eta poster... zip tie, cost me pennies and works.

        bumping an old thread. Had this issue for years with the fan hitting the same hose. Realized this week that my fan was on backwards all these years! For anyone dealing with this issue, be sure that the fan is bolted to the clutch the right way. It is staggered to one side, longer than the other. Car runs much cooler now that the fan is actually pointing in the right direction LoL!

          Haha, poor car has been pushing a rope.
          My son has the 1987 325e, 2 door, 5speed
          I daily the 1989 325i, 4 door, 5speed
