I'm trying to install my Schrick 288 but cant safely get enough footing under the rocker arm foot to pry it up.

How does everyone compress valve springs to gain rocker clearance for cam lobes/journals?

the heads off the car right? lol. move the rocker arm away (to the left or right) from the valve and spring so that you can slide the cam in.then align what rockers you can and lock em in place. then rotate until you can align and lock some more in place.

There is a special tool to compress all the rockers but...

you can compress them one at a time and carefully hold the valve open with a stack of Popsicle sticks...safer than tweaking sliding and shoving.
