Most of you are ready for this and looking for the RIGHT info...
Also a must if you havent addressed stabilizing the tranny after or in preperation for a short-shift kit.
Back-date to the e21 or e28 manual/auto transmission mounts.
These cars used only one mount, thus had to be stiffer. I would say its a hard rubber, more solid than a stock M20 tranny mount or any M-series vehicles. Not to the level of urethane race mounts - will not induce the amount of vibrations and noise as described by other forum test subjects.
p/n - 23 71 1 175 424 - $10 @ BMA
-They are 1-2mm shorter than stock but being stiffer, they are probably the exact height needed. A washer can fix this if you deem necessary.
-The other thing to note, the bolts are a size larger so you will need to drill out the tranny mount and the tranny - an easy task even under the car.
Might as well purchase the nuts and washers while youre placing the order:
03 - FLAT WASHER - 64521350824 - x2
04 - HEX NUT - 07119915558 - x4
09 - WAVE WASHER - 07119932112 - x2
-Note there is a long end and short - the short end is too short to be on the tranny side with a washer in place, as there should be one for proper installation. The picture depicts it installed wrong - i found out the hard way.
-There are a couple tabs on the transmission mount that will interfere slightly - address them with grinding them off the mount bracket or notching the mounts with a dremel. Again, nothing complicated here.
