    M42 radiator?

Anyone with an M20 running an M42 radiator? I have an early car and I've fitted the late model cooling system, but the tank doesn't sit quite right and offsets the cruise control. It's annoying the heck out of me!

Also, I love a clean simple engine bay, for many reasons, one being if anything goes wrong you aren't moving 26 things to see it or fix it, and there's just less to break too :)

Is an m42 radiator enough to cool the M20? I know a lot of M/S50/2's are running it, albeit with an electric fan (which I guess I could add if need be)

I would be very interested in this, as I am converting my 318iS to a m20, so if I could use the existing radiator, that would be a money saving bonus...

There is no reason you couldn't do it. You would just have to do some work with the hose that goes to the reservoir to make it go directly to the radiator [yes there is a spot for it].

Tons of us 24v guys run the M42 radiator so I see no problems with the M20 running it. You probably wouldn't be able to run a fan shroud though.

I have the M42 rad with the M20. The hose that goes to the res mounts up fine with out mods.
The lower hose is also fine. You need to find a hose that fits the top of the rad. Just measure and go to your local auto store and ask them to go through there stock.

Sounds good, so the only hose I need would be the upper radiator hose. Just want to make sure I've got everything together before I start this install. Brackets/mounting hardware are all the same? Thanks...
