    Dropping the transmission

    Hey, can someone tell me how to drop the tranny(manual) out of my 87 325iC...Can anyone help me and explain what steps to take to make it easier and faster....(I'm not a noob, I've fullly rebuilt an M42 just need help on my M20)

    Oh and if there are any sites or other threads that explain how to then please post it up.

    - seriously.

    The torx bolts on the top of the bell housing and on the starter are a bitch to get to.

    I am sure there are some writeups, but what it boils down to is having a buch of extensions and universals to get to those damn bolts.

      Ditto. Find a truckload sale from cummins or harbor freight and buy the sooper dooper extension set. You'll need about two feet and a swivel bit. Oh, and a friend with slender hands to guide you onto the topmost torx bolt. GL
