    '88 SETA head on '85 ETA ?

Does it need the SETA ecu ? and all wiring harness?
Or just use stock eta harness?

    Thanks

My guess would be yes it would need the ecu and harness since the seta head is pretty much the same as the is. Or at least thats what I have been told.

I wonder if its the same?
since the "i" and "iS" have 7000rpm, + different shape on pistons head.
While SETA only runs ~6000 rpm ?

it would depend on what exactly you would be swaping over. if it was just the head then you wouldnt need the electronics. if it were the head intake manifold exhaust manifold you wouldnt need the electronics, but i think the throttle body and afm from the seta needs the seta electronics. and this is pure speculation but i would think with a seta head and eta block your power would be decreased due to lower c/r. but look around at some old threads youll find there are some ways of making power with the eta, you just gotta do some research.

don't do this, you will be WAY down on power.

s'eta head = "i" head, but with a weaker cam

            ^ Thanks for the info.
So, "i" head is better than "seta" head ( maybe for turbo)?

hmm, just need to clarify again, so they are 100% the same ?

Oh no no, they're WAAAAAY different!!!

j/k, only the cam and valvesprings are different
not really a good swap on an eta block

the head is the same as the i, the cam is NOT. when you swap the b25 head to the b27 block, you get a lower compression ratio but maybe some power because of the better head flow and more aggressive cam. the super eta head is the same, but since the cam is still eta style it is just going to give you lower compression and flow increase but it wont matter with the weak cam, youll lose power.

oh i didnt see the bottom of his post ^ haha. the seta also does not have oil holes drilled for the extra journals the i cam uses, if i remember right.
