    Odd starting issue (flooding?)

Occasionally my car will bounce around the idle a little and can die during a startup if you're not ready to rescue it with the gas pedal.

the bad part is this: If it dies, it cannot be restarted for around 10 minutes - subsequent attempts barely even try to catch. Sounds like the engine is cranking strong enough, it's almost like the previous unburnt fuel is holding down the A/F.

Any thoughts on what this could be?

does it happen more in the cold or damp?

Seems to be independent of outdoor temperature - that's why I hesitate to call it "warm starting".

      Leaking injectors? Carbon canister?

My 325i was doing this and running rough and rich when cold. I changed every sensor and cleaned every contact, still didn't work. Then I put in the 19#injectors and a 027 AFM. Fixed. It was my injectors. If you are going to change them you might want to think about the Big 6 AFM and 19#ers

Sounds about right - I am going to run a test where I give it fuel pressure "key in on position" for a few minutes then try to start. Leaky injectors would cause a no start there, I think.

Concerned about my AFM too, and O2 sensor, but I'm not sure what I want to do since an m30 swap is in my future.

I actually have my O2 unplugged right now. My car runs better, I think it is bad, well now I know it is.

If you are doing a M30 swap in the future but want to keep the M20 going for now I siggest getting some 19#ers ( I paid $60 on ebay) and you should have a 027 AFM on the M30. Go for it. You can even put the Mustang 19#ers in the M30. Let me think, single to 4 pintle injectors???????
            But thats my

That's not too bad - I'll do injectors + seals, and maybe unplug my O2 to see hwo that helps - there was no change previously.

I just went through my first tank of gas with the new injectors and it worked out to 10 Liters for 100km. I used to get 17 liters which is what my Chevy trailblazer gets
