All this talk about turbos has me wondering what goes into making one work on an e30. Can someone point me to a turbo guide for an M20?

Unless you are a master fabricator or are planning on running <5psi, that is almost impossible.
For your first turbo setup, expect to spend at least $2500 for a bare-bones setup. But be prepared to take your budget and double it. They spiral out of control quite quickly, and the little stuff adds up fast.
