checked all sensors except aff because i have the nose diving tach and on and off engine stumble/jerk,cut out going on. The CPS read 493 ohms and the book calls for 500-800, is this going to matter?

Its not the strongest, and its not in spec either. Since only that much could mean your meter though, its time to go to the O-scope and check the dwell or buy a new one if you are worried about it. It is a very important signal to Motronic. -
Check the condition of your main relay, too.
But yeah, after checking voltage on the CPS, pitch it if it is out of spec.
