How do I know that I'm looking at a s-eta engine?

What kind of stampings should I be looking for?

Did they only come out in 88 as I am lead to believe?

How much are the s-eta pistons worth by themselves?

TIA! I'm trying to sort out some costs in building a stroker vs. redoing my head and replacing a headgasket on my 325is .....

The head casting # will end in "885", the stamp above the spark plugs will say 2.5/2.7. The valve cover will say "BMW", not the BMW logo.

yes, it only came in the 1988 325/528e
    1989 cirrisblau-metallic 325i

      Perfect ...

I saw something at a junkyard a couple of weeks ago and now going back was wondering if the engine in there has the pistons that I need for a stroker.

There is a set on sale here for $150 plus shipping.

You would still need an ETA crank.

        Closing SOON!

Saw those yesterday. Thanks. I want something more local though. If I find nothing around here, for sure i'll be looking into getting some shipped.

is it because I showed you my S-eta motor in the garage? You are a clever person, Micah.
