    refurb head or no?

putting a new engine in my 90 325i, possibly gonna have a newer bottom end. Should I buy a refurb head for it, or go with what i have. Or should i take the head I have to get refurbd? car has 246000 on odometer.

I would say with 246k miles it won't hurt to get it cleaned up, inspected and rebuilt (valve job).

As worn as the tips of the valves on my car are (275,000, but has been very bad for 30,000+) I would say careful inspection, then decide.

If time is a crunch, find a good used head and have that inspected/rebuilt/melted for scrap/put on just as it is because it is fine.
