Easiest option is to find an engine harness from an 87 325i which will plug into the car without issue (assuming it has the round C101 connector near the firewall)

More complicated option is to run 2 wires over to C104 (that supply Tachometer and MPG function) C104 lives near the ECU, 3 wires Green, Black and Yellow

Otherwise it all plugs in. Make sure you change the waterpump over to an 84 - 87 model so everything bolts up to the cooling system.

m20 swaps aren't worth it, just go m50

*this is totally my opinion, many will disagree and i can see why. but personally, since they can be done for the same amount of money, i'd rather have 20 more horsepower, 12 more valves, hydraulic lifters, etc

I have the same questions as this guy.

I have the same car, we need an 87 325i harness, and ecu??

then change over the water pump, and everything should be plug and play?? no splicing or any of the BS??
