    WTF did I just break?

This morning on my way to work I heard a small pop, after which my car started to overheat really quickly. I could smell coolant so I knew something was up. This is what I found:

The circled hose had broken loose, and was hanging with the metal piece pictured below still in it. Fat green arrow is where the hose would be if it was still attached (ran under the thicker hose) and connected where the skinny green arrow is pointing.

    Green lines indicate hose.

Crap, something's broken. Question is, does anyone know the name, or maybe have a part # of the chunk of metal all these hoses connect to? Looks to me like the piece broken off in the hose snapped off of the part i'm looking for, but I don't know how.

edit: sorry for the crappy cell pics (stuck at work), and for the laziness not looking this up. I normally would but I decided to clock back in and get a few more hours in while I'm waiting for a ride, so can't research. Thanks to anyone who can help!

That would be the water pump. An inlet broke off and you lost coolant.

There's a good deal on water pumps in the group buy section, iirc.

Umm, it looks like the thermostat housing to me.

Correct that is the thermostat housing you broke, that hose runs from the housing to the throttle body heater housing. Part #1 in the diagram

*%&. I think that's the second time I did that. That is the thermostat housing, not the water pump. Sorry.

kronus, you must stop hanging around with Farbin Kaiber. Your short term memory has clearly been compromised.
