Hi all, I'd really appreciate some help with my GF's 1989 12/88 325i Automatic sedan. I searched around the forums for about a day.
I had the head off this weekend to change a broken rocker arm. Even with the broken rocker arm, the car did make it home a few miles even with the broken rocker a couple months ago. It has sat for about 2-3 months and I finally got to it this past weekend.
So I bought a new rocker arm, head gasket, head bolts, wires, cap, rotor, new belt, plugs, etc. Figured I'd give it a tune while I did the repair.
It's all back in place installed, valves adjusted to .010" but the car simply will not start.
Out of fear I rechecked the cam/crank timing, but it is perfectly timed to the marks. I also hand spun the engine about 4-5 times once I installed the belt.
I checked:
Fuel pump, runs and has good pressure
Crank Position Sensor, even swapped it with a junk yard one and checked resistance (540 oHMS) across the two outer pins.
I have Spark, I checked it by pulling a plug and grounding it to the head.
Compression isn't great, becuase it's a high mileage car, but it's about 110 psi across 1-6
All the plugs are connected and triple checked, fuel lines are correct.
At first plugs got wet, since I left the old plugs in initially.
Now that I put the new plugs in they stay dry, even after long cranking sessions, I have no way to confirm injectors are actually firing.
Please help, I'm exhausted. I don't have a Bentley Manual for this car, THANKS!!
