    broke a timing belt so m20 is coming out what is the best way

    1. out from the top as per the bently
    2. drop it down and lift the car over (no shop lifts just floor jacks and such)

    ive always taken them from the top. ive herd that taking them from underneath is eaiser tho

      taking it from underneath requires removing the front subframe and all that jazz that's hooked up to it, take it from the top

        I took the car off the motor, it was kinda fun, in my driveway with a floor jack. My m20 had the auto still attached, but nothing on top of the block. I probably would not have done it that way if the head was still on it. I seesawed the car at the frame rail by the tranny, took off the rear wheels to get the max travel off the seesaw technique. even brought the struts, control arms, rack, and f sub. all at once. By myself.
