Cleaning the ICV, good idea or bad?

My engine is now idling high (1100rpm) instead of its usual 800. I think I may need to clean the ICV out. Already checked for cracked hoses and furthermore they were replaced in august 2007. I have a bad feeling that I'm going to be one of those cases where I'll clean it and then my idle will go nuts bouncing up and down. What do you guys think?

    Thanks,
    Stuart

Its safe to do so don't worry about it. Just use some carb cleaner and get in there nice and deep. Just make sure you get all the shit out, get a nice shop rag and clean it.

do it, and clean you TB out too

Seafoam makes an arosol (sp?) version of the product called "Deep Creep". Its marketed as a lube/penatrent but it is the same stuff as Seafoam, and makes for a darn good carb/tb cleaner
