questions refreshing my eta with new head

So i'm going to rebuild my eta with a new head. The block has 126,000 miles on it, didn't consume oil and the oil stayed clean.

I'm wondering if I should save myself a headache and forgo rebuilding my block with new bearings and what not and simply slap the new head on there.

However, my goal is to have a nice new engine. Is it worth taking it apart to have it refinished and get my 126,000 miles back? Also, the head is going to be rebuilt with as many new parts as possible but it's not like i have a huge engine budget.

    Your thoughts?

Unless it has been severely mistreated, the head, bottom end, and rings should be in good condition at only 126k. The head might benefit from a valve job and new seals, but it is probably fine at that mileage. Now if the engine were at 226K, it probably would need a head refresh.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
