I knew I shoulda taken a thousand pics when I pulled those two motors.
It is not that hard or complicated if you are mechanically inclined. Just take your time, you will see what you have to do. Leave the wire harness attached to the motor when you pull it. Take the motor and tranny out as one piece.
Lemme know if you have any questions. With a specific question I could help better.
as said already, keep the wire harness on the engine. unplug the ecu and pull the plug through the firewall. twist of the connector for the fuse box. remove all ground straps, and the coil or coil wires. take out the fuel pump relay and crank the car. it might start for a second and die, now your fuel lines dont have any more fuel. remove fuel lines, make sure you take the slave cylinder out, if your car is a manual, or you will mangle the hardlines, ask me how i know. guibo is kinda a bitch to remove but its pretty self explanatory. i recommend taking out the entire shift linkage, including the shifter and knob, because the bitch clip really is a bitch. make sure you mark the hood so you know how to put it back on or else it wont be aligned right
About leaving the harness on the motor. I always take the harness off and leave it with the car. It just all depends on what you are doing and why are you pulling the motor. Like if you are going to pull the head off or disassemble the motor. I would leave the harness in the car. Thats my opinion though. Do what you think.
I would leav ethe harness on the car aswell, its not that hard to unplug 10-15 wires. just take good pictures of where everything plugs in first if you are a have a bad memory.
