    overcharging the battery or what?

yesterday my battery died. i got a jump from a friend and the car ran fine. Today the battery was dead again, after getting a jump from a friend again, it died after I parked the car.

I pulled the battery and got it tested at Shucks. They said it was fried as I had overcharged it.

I bought a new battery and tested the alternator. According to Shucks everything was fine. The car started and ran perfectly. I'm thinking awesome all is well.

3 hours later I can't start the car because the new battery is dead. I try to jump it. Nothing. I use a battery charger for 30 min and its fine again. Starts and drives fine. After driving for about an hour, I notice that the car feels down on power but only under light engine load.
When I floor it, full power and all is well. So I drive in 4th on the freeway. Otherwise if feels jerky and not good.

So I'm thinking its either the solenoid, voltage regulator on the back of the alternator (possibly not though as the alternator was checked to be fine), or another shit battery (which still cost me $100)

    any thoughts?

take a volt meter and test for current when your car is off, take the negative lead off and put the meter in line with the ground on the battery and the ground strap, if there's any current thats a bad thing, start pulling fuses until you see a drop in the current at the meter. pretty easy to find which curcuit is drawing power, but then its the tough part of testing all the components on that curcuit.
