Uggghhh!!

It's seems like it's just one thing after another with this car. Firs the clutch, now it doesn't want to run.

Anyways, I decided to try and get it to start, because it would crank but wouldn't start, which turned out just to be a loose fuel pump relay. However, after about ten to fifteen minutes of running, it just sputtered and died, and would only start again if I like stomped on the gas, and only continued to run when my foot was on the gas. Once I let off, it died again. Also, there is some smoke coming from I don't even know where, and the smell of burning rubber.

Another issue I have is that there's a rather loud whirring noise coming from the starter area, is occasionally will evolve into a screeching sound too.

I don't really know what to do about this and help would be greatly appreciated, I've been without my beloved e30 for months now :(.

tap on the starter solinoid and see if its stuck, that may be the noise/smell
