    thrown rod that went through the block help

    1987 325is threw a rod, what is the best thing to do. i have been looking for a engine for quit some time and nothing has shown up.
    any suggestions
    need m20 block

        We have tons of M20 powered cars in the yards out here... It's not too long of a drive!

                  Shit man, I have an early m20 you can have for FREE if you want to come down here and pick it up.

                  It has sat partially disassembled for about two years, so it will need a rebuild.

                    Also, car-part.com listed six m20s within forty miles of here. So if you have the means of conveyance, you can have your pick.

                        Nothing really. I pulled it out of an old e28 parts car I had. It ran well, but needed the valves adjusted when I yanked it. I kept it in case I would need a spare one day.

                        Oil pan and intake are off of it, but I never touched the head. Has been covered the entire time.

                        It is from an '84 528e, it should swap directly into your car since they are both pre-eta, but someone here should verify that.

                            If I remember correctly the odometer had shit the bed around 230,000.

                            I have no idea when that happened, it could have been 15 years before I ever got the car.

                              no, the '84 528e is an eta, his '87 325i has an "i" motor
