Has anyone swapped an IX motor into a 2wd car? I know it's the same motor, i, is,ix, I'm just wondering if the motor mounts are the same. I know that the oil pan, and possibly the oil pump is different. Anything else I should know about this swap?

Yeah, that's what I'm finding out, that sucks. The reason I would be using an IX motor is because I have one in a parts car that I picked up. I wanted to turn my eta into a 2.7i, but I can't seem to find any reliable info on this setup with a US spec eta bottom end. Everything is either, SETA, aftermarket pistons, or UK spec motors, so I thought, well I just see if I can't just swap in the 2.5l. But, oh well I guess...

AFAIK, the head/intake on the ix block is the same as an i, so make your 2.7i. I don't know if there is any information on that swap on the internets, but maybe if you search just a little bit, you can have it completely spelled out for you with every spec you could ever want. No joke. But you do have to do a little legwork.Originally posted by chileelkyamaze about the enthusiasm e30 generate

Yeah, I've read what I could find on the budget stroker, but I can't seem to find any info, dyno numbers with the stock eta 9:1 pistons. I have everything I need, I'm just not sure if it would be worth the work or not. I'm sure it would have to make more power than the stock 2.7l, if you know of anyone with the stock 2.7l bottom end setup let me know so I can bug them. Thanks.
