    Engine Stalling

Sometimes when I put the clutch in, usually the first stop sign I come to, the engine dies. Usually it will only do it right after start up, sometimes it will a couple of stops later, but I haven't noticed it doing it after the car gets some heat in it. But sometimes after I've driven it for a little while, and turn it off, it will die the first few times I try and start it. Don't seem to be a big deal, if after I start it, or when it returns to idle after first driving it, if I apply a little throttle it's fine. I'm thinking it's probably getting unmetered air in the intake, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has had this problem before.

It could also be a problem with the cold start injector. If it is not working correctly it can cause stalling problems at idle when the engine is still cold.

You should be able to see if it is working by removing it from the intake manifold and having someone try and start the car. Make sure to do this when the engine is cold and use a container to catch any gas that might spray out.

An ETA will run without the cold start injector. Try cleaning your ICV with brake cleaner. Check for leaks in the intake bellow. Possible TPS?

check the spark plug gaps if you have plugs thats you would have to.
        wires
Or if you didnt tune your car up in a while this might be the time but it sounds common my car did the same thing when i picked it up after a basic tune up never again.
also chech the fuel filter sometime you forget to change small things to.

That behavior would make me think of an intake leak and/or sticky ICV.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Could be carbon build up as well, and do check the ISCV for sticking as jlevie and others suggested (I would use throttle body cleaner rather than brake or carb spray)

I need to do a tune up, but like I said, it's not a big deal, it usually only does it after start up. I'm looking around trying to find a vacuum diagram. Does anyone know of one?

my car did this last night too in a way, i drove for a while and when i stopped at my friends place i turned it off, when i turned it back on it started and then it sputtered and died. i tried starting it again and it was having symptoms of a low battery. after a failed attempt to push start it, i attempted to start it with ignition and it started up, but it died again. so the second time i had to hold rev up so i can park it in a safe spot and leave it there...would anyone know what i should check. i checked my icv not too long ago and it was very clean but i cleaned it anyways. the engine was low on oil though so im going to get some as we speak.

to follow up it hasnt done it today but the idle is bouncing from 200-700 and back and forth and sometimes it will just go away

+1. Motors need more fuel when cold, so a lean condition caused by vacuum leaks will make (more) trouble when cold.
