    325is starts - almost

Well i'll make this short at least as short as i can. About two years ago i snapped my timing belt and bent the hell out of my valves. In my spare time since then i have slowly rebuilt the head and reassembled the motor. After getting the exhaust all back together saturday the time came to finally add fluids and start her. So problem it didn't start. I know the fuel pump works because the fuel absorber was spraying fuel everywhere (i replaced it with rubber fuel line). I know i have spark because i put some gas directly into the cylinders and it fired but could not sustain running. When it cranks it cranks hard but just no fire. I'm trying to get a list of things to together to try and sort this out and any suggestion that anyone here has would be a tremendous help. '87 325is

    Thank you,
    Josh

When i had it all apart i cleaned the carbon off the injector nozzles, however i may have hurt something in my cleaning procedure. I'm leaning injector related though because i have pressure up to the fpr maybe i swapped the fuel lines going into the fpr and out of the fuel rail??? I did replace those to.

the fuel line hooks up to the rail. the return line hooks up to the regulator

That would do it, return line goes to the bottom of the FPR, and the high pressure to the fuel rail.

Thats it. I got it to fire last night after swapping the two lines around. I never knew it was into the rail and out of the regulator, I was always under the impression it was the other way around. Well you live you learn. Thank you, I have no way to express my gratitude, but to those who have had projects that finally come to a successful ending i'm sure you know how happy i am.
