Will an 87 325i auto driveshaft fit an 86 325e auto?

The driveshaft on my 86 325e auto is toast and I'm looking for the cheapest functional replacement I can get. I just ordered a replacement driveshaft for my 325e, but there is a guy near me selling a used driveshaft from an 87 325i auto for $50. Will this driveshaft fit my car? The part numbers in question are 26111225717 (325e) and 26101226417 (325i)

It could be right, but without knowing more info on the years of where these came out of, I cant say for sure. There is an interchangablility section here though:

'86 and '87 automatic shafts appear to be the same on the surface. I know for sure the diameters are different on manual cars though (specifically the '87 models)
