    1984 325e AT resurrection after 20yrs

    First let me start by saying that i got this far because of this forum and this great community! so Thanks!

    As the title says, I got my hands on a 325e that has been sitting for 20yrs. It now runs but my Idle is having issues. Let me list what i have done so far:
    -New fuel pumps (in tank, outside)
    -new fuel injectors
    -new fuel pressure regulator
    -fuel lines have no issues
    -new fuel filter/oil filter/air filter
    -valve adjusted + gasket
    -relays and fuses are working
    -all belts have been changed / timed correctly
    -distributor and rotor are new
    -spark plug ohms are 6.24 in each cable
    -new spark plugs
    -compression test 180psi on each cylinder
    -all temp sensors are new (most of them were busted/jumped)
    -o2 sensor is new
    -Air stabilizer valve working properly
    -all fluids are new

    After all this the car is alive, but my idle is just not there. It was for a bit but cant get it to work properly.
    Car has a problem starting, kicks but dies instantly sometimes. Other times starts but misses and dies.
    When i get it to start, i press on the pedal and after a couple of minutes it works great, if i accelerate it misses but not so much. it might suddenly die.

    Im thinking electrical as this started when I plugged al the sensors correctly but im not entirely sure.

    Does unplugging the AFM change the idle?
    Are there any intake leaks?

        i changed both sensors on the engine. only one i havent is the timing position sensor.

        will try this tomorrow on the AFM, i actually got a loaner today to test another AFM.
        there are no evident leaks...

        i changed the hose from the throttle body to the valve cover also as the one in the car was a bit clogged.
        i removed the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold and the engine revs up, but still very jerky.
        my other option right now is the TPS, havent tested it yet on ohms.

            ok so if i disconnect the AFM the car stalls basically...
            i checked on the timing belt and im 1 tooth of on the camshaft, do you guys think that could be the case?

              So i changed the AFM, still same issue... im now thinking TPS or i dont know...
              i still have issues starting and idling and when i rev up it misses
              spark plug cables are new, ignition coil is new, just re-did timing beilt

                We had a lot of air / vacuum leaks when we started on our '86. The great Jim Levie (user jlevie) would always say start with a smoke test, find the vac leaks. We cleaned / tested / fussed with the Idle Control Valve, and eventually replaced it with new to help solve the cycling idle.
