Is the M20 tank/fuel system supposed to be pressurized?

When I recently put my M20 back together I deleted the charcoal canister system. I plugged up the hole on the throttle body, and the vent line that comes from the secondary overflow fuel tank I just left as an open hose.

But this makes me wonder, is the M20 tank supposed to be pressurized? i.e should I connect the line from the overflow venting straight into the throttle body to close the loop on the fuel system?

I'm not sure if you are supposed to do this. Maybe the tank system needs to vent on E30's...

Do not connect the vent line to the throttle body. The vent line is fine to leave open.

I believe there is a solenoid that is driven when the engine is under vacuum so that it can be used to 'purge' the carbon canister, but it does not pressurize the fuel tank
    tank.
