    No Fuel

    alright here is the issue

the car is running fine 99% of the time except yesterday and today im haveing a no fuel issue.

yesterday the car sat after being driven to philly, it sat for 8 hrs when igot to it, it would crank but i was getting no fuel. Check everything, nothing was working, tapped on the pump. Started right up...

tonight happened again except it started, then we shut it off, went to start it 10 minutes later, it started, i pushed my fan button cause i was gonna let it idol, the sudden draw made the car stall cause it was to soon after starting, and then i had the no fuel issue again and it wouldnt start.

    tapped on the pump... nothing...

    cliffs
sat 8hrs, no start, tapped on pump, start
sat 5 hrs, started, shut off, started 10 mins later, stalled, no start, tapped on pump, nothing

hopes this makes sense, im gonna go pick up the car in the morning

Hows the connection at the pump? Maybe try a spare fuel pump relay too.

It sounds like the fuel pump could be bad since you tapped on it and it started working, but that could be coincidence I suppose... Where'd you buy it? They might warranty it if it hasn't been too long.

The fuel pump relay is right next to the main relay, attached to the fuse box on the outside (on the E24s and E28s at least). The main relay has 5 pins and the fuel pump relay has 4. Also check your fuses! I had a bad fuse kill the fuel pumps once in my 533i and I went through a lot of hassle before I thought to check for that.

just replaced all three relays and checked all the fuses again, also checked the connection at the pump, seems tight, just power and ground right

              still nothing...
