    Turbo diesel E30??

My friend has an 80's 524TD, which is a cool car and rare to see in the states. the body has seen better days and he just had a small accident recently that kinda tweaked the front end on it.
He wants to find an E30 with a good body and a bad engine, and swap in the TD engine.
has anybody done this? the diesel engine is similar to an m20 so it should drop right in, but i dont know about what hurdles hell come across with the wiring, etc..
he did say that he wants to find a 325 E car , not an I car.. for some reason the E has the bosses on the trans bellhousing for the TD crank sensor

If you download the ETKs you should have all of the wiring information you need. Since the block is essentially an M20 block (someone correct me if this is wrong) I'm fairly sure it should bolt right in.

Didn't they make a diesel E30 for the European market?

Why is their sudden interest in turbo diesel e30's?

Strap a turbo to your standard engine?

I was thinking exactly that the other day Joe! A 3.4 liter turbo diesel would be pretty ballsy.

why? when.... a m30 can handle 15psi stock and blow most people off the streets. Look at good&tights thread http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=123857
