    Quick wiring harness question

I am using the m20 harness on my b35 swap. Apparently there are two parts to the m30 harness: 1. the main piece with inector rail, etc. and 2. the other that goes from the alternator to the starter. Will I need the second piece if using an m20 harness?

here are pictures of the harness I am talking about:

I am planning on getting it running today, so any help is appreciated!

I know what it is. I am asking if I need that harness if I use the m20 one.

I dont think so... You should see the same connectors on your m20 harness right?

you tell me. if the oil level sensor isn't hooked up to anything, what is the outcome?

I think you missed the point of my original post.

I got it figured out. Turns out that the harness is not needed when using an m20 harness. It is integrated.

i think i did. I still don't understand what you were asking. Were you asking if it needed to be hooked up to run? I think it is just a dumby light on the check panel.

no, the question was regarding the components of the m20 and m30 harnesses. The pictured wires are part of the m30 harness that goes from the alternator to the starter as well as some oil lines I never figured out . The m20 harness has these wires integrated in, rather than being a separate piece to the harness.

while i'm at it, i don't feel like opening a new thread.

I am having troubles with my engine. Here are the symptoms:
                  - barely get it to idle
                  - give it gas, it hesitates, barely catches itself and slowly gains rpm
                  - when floored, it will only reach about 3100RPM. I got it to go further once, but backfired when I let off the throttle @ ~5000rpm
                  - backfire every once in a while

                  I have:
                  - changed out ICV
                  - tried a different ecu
                  - replaced FPR vacuum hose (was leaking before)
                  - sprayed wd40 over any possible vacuum leak

I don't have a fuel pressure tester, and I don't have money to get one. My last dollar went to brake fluid.

                  What do you think?

2 possiblities > Mismatched (impedence) injectors or less likely cam oil seal bad leaking oil into ignition cap.

                      this was a year ago.

Turns out the m20 wiring harness I was using was wired improperly. Went with an m30 harness and all was well.
