m30 exhaust sound vs s38 exhaust sound

i was looking at a couple videos on youtube of an s38 powered e30 and that engine sounds unreal! is it just because of it's high compression and high flowing DOHC design?

just wondering what can be done, to make the m30b35 sound anything like the sweet note the s38 makes?

    Vic.

probably not going to happen. Maybe with some skilled exhaust work, you could get close, but just wrk with the sound it makes and learn to love it.

It's like trying to get an m50 to sound like an s50, there's just not enough rasp (teehee)

You'll probably have better chances making the m50/m52 sound like s50/s52 than making a SOHC 1 tb M30 sound like a DOHC ITB s38 ;)

i think what youre looking for is 6 ITB's ripping open like hot fire, not just the exhaust note...

Mine sounds a good bit different from a stock m30, not quite like an s38 though.. The ITB's make quite a difference.

              This thread is silly.

i picked up an e24 for parts, it has two separate 2 1/4 inch piping with nothing but a resonator on each pipe... lol its loud, nothing like an s38 lol still pretty sweet tho, thats how i plan to run my e30 m30, but im going to put a muffler on it too.

i guess i wont be running a muffler then, for the first month after the swap is complete at least, just to get it out of my system.
