Hey guys I'm looking for a shop that can shorten my driveshaft (damn g265!). Does anyone know of any reputable shops in Southeast Michigan or Ohio? I was also wonder what the best method is for measuring the amount that needs cut off. I was going to unbolt the front and rear driveshaft sections bolt the front to the transmission, bolt the rear to the diff, bolt the CSB into place and then measure how much overlap I have between the two parts. Any reason that wouldn't work? I really don't want any more headaches in the driveshaft department so I want to make sure I get this right the first time. Thanks!

e28 shaft won't work.
Have your e30 shaft front section shortened and the larger guibo flange welded on.///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)
Aside from showing yourself to be offensive, lacking experience and ignorant in the ways of business, you're also illiterate and imprudent. Beyond that, your sense of liability is severely impaired.

I didn't read your post entirely. Yes you can use your e28 shaft, but the front section must be shortened when using the g265. No matter what engine position.///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

There is a shop right near me that shortened mine for $90. If you can't find anyone near you, feel free to ship it to me and I'll bring it to them for you.
I measured mine by bolting on the rear half and holding the front half up up so it is sitting on the guibo. The measurement doesnt have to be perfect because you have like 2 inches to play with with the splines.Byron
