M20 Overflow tank and hose question

For those who used the stock e30 325i overflow tank on the driver side, what coolant hose did you end up using?

Any trouble bleeding the system? What is your experience with it?

I am not sure if I am happy with the e32/e34 tank as it's a pretty damn tight fit and I don't like the clerance for the hoses at the manifold/booster area.

    thanks!

Do you mean the hose that goes from the top of the rad to the
overflow? The stock hose should slip on fine.

Shouldn't have bleeding problems. Just do it properly.

It won't reach to the heater core then won't it? The stock b35 hose has the overflow tank end right near the heater core area.

Oh I see what you're saying.
The overflow to the engine. I just spliced the stock m20 overflow
        hose to the m30 hose.

Either way, the coolant expansion tank should be located a bit higher than the thermostat, because of air bubble flow might be trapped in the system?

            Jean,
you seem very thorough but did you see this...

            http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=144617

I posted it awhile back, it is Dave Crawford's full proof M30 Bleeding...

Also, I don't know if it is hilly where you live but when I lived up north,
I found it very helpful to back up a short steep hill if you had an M30 that wouldn't bleed out....
I don't know why but it works....

BDK - yep I have seen it on the mye28 forum before.

This step is going to be an issue as the hose barely fit over the barb on the expansion tank, I'll need to get a different hose.

              5. Remove the small coolant line that runs from the radiator to the
expansion tank AT THE EXPANSION tank and hold it as high as you can.

The two hoses where they connect at the firewall and one of them goes up (hose 12 in the picture above in this thread) to the e34 tank are very close to the manifold/booster area. This is my 2nd reason why I am curious how people run the m20b25 tank and if they run a different hose..
