    so... bought this car.

drove it from columbia to greenville SC ok and drove to school fine for about a week.

pulled up to a friend's house over the weekend hung out there for about an hour and now the car will not start. any ideas?

I get fuel from the pump to the filter and through the filter towards the engine. The problem is it doesn't reach the fuel rail up front. As this is my first E30 my bentley is still on the way (shipping). What is the desired fuel pump pressure ? I believe zacm said it's a stock pump.

    thanks in advance!!

i love my lack of power steering and it it makes the installation of what comes next much easier ;)

The pulley seems awfully close to the radiator with the mounts I'm using. Thats the reason we decided to just take it off for now.

Ok.... just for the record there are no clearance issues with the ps pump. Just one low pressure PS hose needs to be extended.

I'm going to try driving it without it, I like the feel better and the clearance of the pump kind of scares me. If it's intolerable I can always slap it back on.

    Why are you deleting ps?

We still need to fit the cooling system, bleed the brakes, delete power steering and get some sort of exhaust setup going. But its all downhill from here. I'm pretty stoked!

Turns out the rotor was installed improperly cause it to skip spark and the engine to have erratic spark. Crank up soon after thanks everyone.

Here is what the e34 bentley shows for m20/m30 ignition system resistance specifications

    coil primary - terminals 1(-) and 15(+) = 0.50 kOhm +/- 10%
    coil secondary - terminals 15 and 4(center) = 6.0 kOhm +/- 10%
    spark plug ends = 5.0 +/- 1.0 kOhm
spark plug wires = 0 Ohm (approx)
    distributor cap suppression connectors = 1.0 +/- 0.2 kOhm
    Rotor = 1.0 kOhm

    Also, crankshaft position/rpm sensor
    m20/m30 engines = 540 ohms +/- 10%
    m50/m60 engines = 1280 ohms +/- 10%

Check each wire with an ohm meter

Could poor spark plug wires have anything to do with it? I'm kinda stuck here.
