What EXACT chassis you are putting it in (year/model) and EXACT engine and HARNESS you are using?

If it's a late model with round 20pin, and you use an older m30b35 harness with the 20pin from e32/e34 it will be a plug and play.
If your chassis is early round 20pin, you'll need to run some extra wires (tach/check engine light for example) from the engine harness side.
If your chassis is the very early rectangular c101 you'll need to make an adapter OR convert the chassis side to round c101
If your engine harness is the newer style with 25pin you'll need to make an adapter.

All of this has been covered many times, search this forum and you'll find all your answers.

I just stumbled upon this thread that has gone cold, I know, but after months of reading/researching, I was under the impression everybody was running M20 ECUs and wiring harnesses with their M30s. What happened to Jared Squire´s site? I saved in my hard drive some of his vauable information, but not all. I too, miss my brick-shaped wonder (m30 swap underway)

No, why would everybody be running DME for an m20b25 to run a b35? Yes it will start and all, but it's not the right DME for the engine.
